  2. Log In: Sign in with the same account you use on the website.
  3. Open your schedule: Find today's round and start scoring from your tee time.
  4. Enter Scores: Input scores hole by hole; the app works offline and syncs when online.
  5. View results: Leaderboards and scorecards are available in the app and on the website.
Web links: Scoring buttons on the website open the GolfEvolution mobile app via deep link when the app is installed.

Mapping a hole

The shapes you draw here are what golfers see on the phone. Work one hole at a time, and press Save Hole before you change holes. A hole change loads that hole from the server, so unsaved drawing on the hole you leave is gone. Dashed rings from neighboring holes are only a reference. Hover one to see which hole it belongs to, and change holes with the hole list.

The ? on the map's drawing bar opens this page in a new tab, so the hole you are drawing stays open. The same link sits in the tools drawer under the drawing tools. In Focus the top bar is hidden and the drawing bar, including ?, stays on the map.

Do the hole in this order

The same names are the chips under Workflow.

  1. Orient. Turn the satellite so the hole plays up the screen. The rotate buttons step 15°. The slider sets the bearing. The compass returns to north, 0°. Right-drag rotates too. That bearing is saved with the hole and is how the phone frames play.
  2. Tee. Draw the teeing ground as an area.
  3. Fairway. Draw the fairway as an area. That fill is the corridor golfers see.
  4. Hazards. Draw each bunker and each water as its own area. A red-staked lateral hazard is the Lateral Water type.
  5. Green. One green area. Front, center, and back are filled in when you save.
  6. Outline. Open this chip, then Suggest Hole Outline, or draw the ring yourself. One outline per hole. It frames the hole on the phone.
  7. OB. The outline comes first. Trace the boundary as a line, or draw it as an area.
  8. Enrich and Player. Optional shot zones, a play corridor, landing targets, and the blue player dot. Place the player before you crop the phone.
  9. Mobile view. The cyan rectangle is the picture on the phone. Confirm it.
  10. Save, then Publish when the course is ready for golfers.

Trees are an area. A cart path uses the line tool. The point tool is only for a Custom marker.

Let the photo draw the first draft

Capture Base freezes the satellite you are looking at. Zoom out to the whole hole first. Suggest surfaces then draws tee, fairway, green, bunker, water, lateral water, trees, and cart path from that photo. The outline and OB stay as they were.

Read the rows under On This Hole before you save. × on a row removes that shape. Undo suggestion puts the replaced shapes back. Those buttons are on the top bar, so leave Focus to reach Suggest surfaces. Capture Base is also on the side rail.

Draw water, a bunker, or any area
  1. The badge on the map should say Hole Features. Mobile Enrichment is for shot zones, corridors, and landing targets. If an area tool is refused, the status line tells you to switch back.
  2. Pick the type, for example Water.
  3. Choose the polygon tool, the pentagon, on the drawing bar. The curve icon is the line tool, for a cart path or for OB.
  4. Click each corner. The dot that follows the pointer is the cursor. Each click adds a corner to the ones already placed.
  5. After three corners, double-click, or click the first corner, to close the area. A click on the first corner before that leaves your points where they are.
  6. Press Save Hole.
One green, one outline. A second green or a second outline is refused and discarded. Select the one already on the hole and edit it. Clear Shape empties that row so you can draw it again. Delete Selected, or × on the row, removes it.
Move a shape, or pan the map

With a shape selected and no yellow corner, the pointer is a move cursor. Drag the shape to place it somewhere else. Drag a white corner to reshape it. Drag empty ground to pan. Scroll zooms. While you are drawing, a double-click closes the shape and an ordinary drag pans. Shift+drag is unused for zooming, so skip it. Ctrl+Z or Command+Z undoes the last move or other change on this hole.

What the handles mean
  • Move cursor on the shape. Drag to move the whole shape. A yellow corner means the next drag reshapes that corner. Click the shape once to clear the corner, then drag to move it.
  • White corner. Drag it to move that corner.
  • Yellow corner. The corner you are holding.
  • White dot on an edge, with a yellow ring. A plain click inserts a corner. No extra key.
Straighten a bad edge
  • A small nudge. Drag the corner.
  • Reshape span. Select the shape, then Reshape span. Click the two ends of the bad stretch. The shorter way between them is the part that moves. Drag that stretch, or click a replacement line from the first end to the second and press Enter. F switches to the long way around and clears the new line. Esc leaves the tool. While you are working on the map, that same press also closes an open tools drawer or leaves Focus.
  • Simplify. Use this when a photo suggestion has too many corners to drag. On an outline, the Outline chip shows Simplify Outline.
Keys, and the clicks that surprise people
Gesture What you get
Shift+click corners, then drag Those corners move together, on the shape you are already editing. Shift is for grouping corners.
Option (Alt) or Command+click Adds a bend only while Edit play line is active, under tee marking, and only when the click is close to that line. A plain click on a white edge dot still inserts a corner on any shape. On water, fairway, bunker, and green, Option and Command change nothing about the draw.
Enter Finishes an area that already has three corners, or a line that already has two points. Enter earlier drops the draft.
Esc Puts the pen down. Three or more corners are kept and the area is closed. One or two corners are dropped. Esc also cancels a hole-guide pin that is still waiting for the satellite click.
Delete With a shape selected and no yellow corner, Delete removes the whole shape, the same as Delete Selected. A yellow corner stays. Thin corners with Simplify, replace a stretch with Reshape span, or redraw. Prefer Delete. Backspace can leave the editor page. Inside a label box the key edits the text. Delete together with Command, Control, or Option is ignored.
Ctrl+Z or Command+Z Undoes the last move or other change on this hole. Inside a text field the shortcut undoes the text. Finish an unfinished polygon, line, or point with Esc before the shortcut restores the hole.
If the points disappear. Esc or Enter on a draft that still has fewer than three corners drops it. Changing holes loads the other hole, so save first. A second green or a second outline is discarded. Edit the one already there. A normal second click, away from the first corner, adds a point.
The phone crop

Open Mobile view. The cyan rectangle is the full-hole picture on the phone. The yellow handle pans it, the blue handles resize it, and the orange handle rotates it. The frame buttons turn it 15°, and the slider sets the bearing. Check the phone mock, press Confirm mobile view, then Save Hole.

A printed yardage book

The hole-guide picture is only for lining the satellite up. It is never published. Click a landmark on the guide, then the same spot on the satellite. Esc cancels a pin you have not placed yet.
